As Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Head of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Vietnam Government officially agreed with proposal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on continuing visa waivers for single-entry visas to Vietnam from seven major tourism markets.

In recent time, information related to change on Vietnam visa exemption scheme for nationals of Russia; Sweden; Norway; Denmark; Finland; the Republic of Korea and Japan has worried various travel agencies in general, and Vietnam visa suppliers in particular. The Vietnam Tourism Association proposed that the Government continue Vietnam visa waivers for visitors from the major markets, especially in the current difficult economic circumstance, fearing that a Vietnam visa requirement will undercut Vietnam tourism’s competitive advantage.
