UK, France, Australia likely enjoy Vietnam visa exemption

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) was in accordance with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; to repeatedly ask the Vietnamese Government for measures to save the tourist industry in Vietnam. Many propositions which were approved by Prime Minister Nguyen Ta Dung during a government meeting late last month has been expected. So that Vietnam would soon be able to draw much attention from international visitors.

According to the proposal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, countries which are planned to be exempted from Vietnam visa are Vietnam’s key tourism markets, or countries which have strategic or comprehensive partnerships with Vietnam.

The Van Hoa (Culture) Online showed the list of countries that are likely to enjoy visa exemption to enter Vietnam. They are UK, France, Germany and Spain, which own strategic partnerships with Vietnam; and Australia, New Zealand and Canada, which are considered as the Southeast Asian country’s comprehensive partners. So,visitors from these mentioned above countries will be free 15 day stay for each entry to Vietnam over five years.

The VNAT director also expected that Vietnam will apply visa waivers for the first group of countries on July 1stthis year; And waivers for the second group will take effect on July 1 next year. Accordingly, citizens from Belarus will be exempted from Vietnam visa from the 1st day of next month. Therefore, the visa exemption for Belarus citizens will be applied within five years, from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2020, with 15-day stay permitted for each entry.

Vietnam has been applying one-sided free-visa

Currently, Vietnam has been applying one-sided free-visa rules for seven countries. Including: Japan, South Korea, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, and Russia. And scraps visas for nine Southeast Asian countries including Brunei, Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines.
