Da Nang takes advantage of APEC week to promote tourism

Different tours have been;designed to serve APEC delegates and international journalists. The tours connect local renowned destinations, including Ngu Hanh Son mountain, Museum of Cham Sculpture, Son Tra peninsula, Ba Na Hills and Han River.

Regional tours are also offered, connecting Da Nang with neighbouring localities, such as Hoi An ancient city - a UNESCO-recognised World Heritage Site - in Quang Nam province and the former imperial capital of Hue in Thua Thien-Hue province.

The municipal Department of Tourism asked local hotels which accommodate;a large number of delegates to connect with travel agencies to offer tour booking services right at the hotels.

Deputy Director of the Tourism Department Tran Chi Cuong said numerous activities have been;carried out to promote the city’s tourism before, during and after the APEC Economic Leaders Week, including tourism investment promotion conferences, workshops, exhibitions of food, photos and souvenirs, among others.

Short video clips featuring Da Nang're screened at LED monitors along the city’s streets; while its tourism information is also available at the Da Nang international airport.

In addition, the Tourism Department has contacted several international TV channels;such as Discovery to help the city popularize its tourism during the upcoming event.
